j'aime bien cette idée.. don't be boring... alors que la vie a Singapour peut vite devenir assez boring....rester ouvert, etre original, c'est aussi l'esprit d'Arab Street

Les enseignes changent tous les mois, celles qui ont le plus de succes sont la depuis des années, mais des nouveaux challengers viennent chaque mois avec de nouvelles créations.

Certaines boutiques marchent et deviennent un nouveau lieu de rendez-vous dans la rue...

dernière boutique en date, celle des vélo de tokyo... super bobo de faire du vélo a Singap, sauf que pour l'instant le vélo est consideré comme le moyen de transport du "pauvre" celui qui n'a pas de voiture.

Aux créations des designers se melent des looks extravagant, des choses qu'on ne voit que dans ce quartier ou les tags et graf sont toléres.

Mais avant que ce quartier deviennent relativement alternatif, c'etait traditionnellement celui des arabes/mulsulmans de singapour.. Kampong Glam.. oui avec un tel nom, il etait destiné, a voir débarquer les boutiques de mode...

Le quartier a officialement délimité et dedié aux arabs, Malay et musulmans par le Jackson Plan en 1822. Ce plan urbain découpe la ville en 4 quartiers dont Kampung Glam

Voila pourquoi a coté de magasin tendance on croise des boutiques de burkas et autres delicieux burkinis qu'on voudrait voir disparaitre mais qui néanmoins rappellent l'histoire de ce lieu original

...Oh quiiiiiiet night... before tomorrow's elections!

I will be following closely and with much interest what people think and what will be the outcome of this election..

the opposition was said to grow stronger, with the young crowd willing to see some changes and alternative choices.

They complain about the PAP and were told to have a "papa don't preach" attitude...

Anyway, let's see if their voices are heard among the majority..

flower power

on a quiet week end in Singapore.. boring but chilled... I decided to take a walk in the botanical garden orchids section ...

after alomost 2 years here.. the first impression was..shit! I should have tried it earlier! this place is really nice...

obviously you need to take a close look at everything . No need to rush...

It is always quite difficult to capture lights and colors from flowers.

Usually when I see photographers spending hours taking a pic from a tiny flower I find it boring.. and especially when I see the final picture. It is very hard to get a vivid result

After all it reminds me of landscapes they can be really plain and boring ..that's probably when the talent for composing a decent frame makes all the difference..

after this day, I realise I have a lot to learn..! Flowers can tell you beautiful stories but you need to know how to capture them

and there is technical skills involve but above all it requires patience

but sometimes it is just a question of following the light and colors

as if something was truly revealing itself only for you...
